Please note that both the SBMH and MHSPD grants will
end on December 31, 2025, due to the conclusion of federal funding.
The SBMH grant is still accepting applications—until
October 1, 2025— for the pathways funded through this grant. Eligible applicants include individuals who either hold a valid Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC) or are second-year interns placed in a K–12 school setting and actively earning their PPSC. The MHSPD grant is no longer accepting new applications.​

Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration (MHSPD) grant is a collaborative partnership led by the º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø Office of Education (SCCOE) with the San José State University (SJSU) School of Social Work​ - a minority-serving institution, and fourteen º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø school districts with high need schools.
​â¶Ä‹The goal of this grant program is to create a workforce pipeline that will bring
​ credentialed school social work professionals to provide integrated support and family and community engagement at high-needs​â¶Ä‹ schools​.​
Financial Support through the MHSPD Grant
Earning a Master's in Social Work and Pupil Personnel Services Credential through partnership with the ​San José ​State University School of Social Work affords access to scholarship and stipend opportunities.
​Students enrolled in ​Masters in Social Work with Pupil Personnel Services Credential in Social Work (MSW + PPSC) are eligible for a scholarhip that covers tuition fees and/or​ living expenses.
