​SAN JOSE, CA – On Tuesday, January 1, 2019, the Education Preparation for Inclusive Classrooms (EPIC), and Leaders in Administration Program (LEAP) credentialing programs will combine and change its collective name to "Educator Preparation Programs" (EPP).
"This department name change more accurately represents the departmental goals and help distinguish the educator preparation department from the credentialing services department. Educator Preparation offers coursework to help educators meet the requirements for various credentials. Credentialing Services assists districts in processing, recordkeeping, and managing credentials. Offering these programs and services are just some of the many ways the º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø Office of Education provides support to districts and schools," stated Adora Fisher, Director of Educator Preparation Programs.
EPP helps prepare educators for roles in Special Education, administrative leadership and other areas. The program currently offers several credential programs approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing including programs for inclusive classrooms, and credentials for specific special education needs.
"We offer opportunities for teachers to expand their educational portfolios through accessible and affordable credentialing methods," added Fisher.
"In addition to the current offerings, we are in the process of approval for a Mild to Moderate Education Specialist credential, and we are planning for a Career Technical Education Credential Program within the next year," added Fisher.
