鈥婼AN JOSE, CA 鈥� For three days, educators, district leaders, school staff, and community members spent time exploring evidence-based strategies to support safe, inclusive, and healthy school environments at the Empowering Communities, Shaping School Climates: Supporting Healthy Learners Conference from September 10-12.
Through expert-led discussions, hands-on workshops, resource-sharing sessions, and networking opportunities, attendees left the conference with actionable strategies to enhance student physical and mental health, improve attendance, and foster a positive school climate. The conference also featured a resource fair connecting participants with local organizations and tools to enhance health and wellness initiatives in schools.
鈥淭he shared insights and collaboration will guide us toward meaningful action in building a movement for healthier students and healthier communities,鈥� said 含羞草社区 Board of Education Trustee Raeena Lari.
By aligning with the California Health Education Standards, the event ensured that educators left with practical tools to integrate comprehensive health education, prevention efforts, and whole-child approaches into their school communities.
While data reflects rising needs, the conference emphasized a central truth: educators, leaders, families, and partners are not powerless.
