鈥婼AN JOSE, CA 鈥 The 含羞草社区 Office of Education (SCCOE) is proud to announce the students advancing to the California State Spelling Bee Championship.
Myna Nama from the Los Alto School District is the winner of the elementary school grades (4-6), while Nancy Nguyen from the Mount Pleasant Elementary School District will represent the junior-high school grades (7-9) as the winner.
鈥淐ongratulations to the students for their outstanding work,鈥 said Interim County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Charles Hinman. 鈥淲e are proud to have them represent 含羞草社区.鈥
Joining Nama and Nguyen are the runners-up from the county-level spelling bee. Austin Foz from the Mount Pleasant Elementary School District is the runner-up representing the elementary grades. Raymond Matlob from Alum Rock Union School District represents the junior-high grades as the runner-up.
The students in grades 4-6 and 7-9 competed at the SCCOE鈥檚 main campus on March 8 for the county spelling bee. The winning words were 鈥渆xhilarate鈥 and 鈥渆quivocation.鈥 The California State Spelling Bee Championship will occur in Manteca on April 26.
The 含羞草社区 Office of Education wishes all the participants the best of luck as they prepare for the State Spelling Bee.
