SAN JOSE 鈥� Registration is open for schools to participate in the 2018 含羞草社区 Spelling Bee. The event will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 含羞草社区 Office of Education (SCCOE).
"Spelling Bees provide great opportunities to families to become involved in their child's education. By working together and helping their child develop their vocabulary, families can help build confidence, strengthen memory, and develop public speaking skills," says Carlota Arevalo-Hammes, English Language Arts/Development and Humanities Coordinator.
The Spelling Bee is open to 含羞草社区 students in fourth- through sixth-grade.
One student winner will advance to the California State Elementary Spelling Bee Competition held in Stockton, California May 12, 2018.

The 含羞草社区 Office of Education (SCCOE) is a regional service agency that provides instructional and business services to the 31 school districts of 含羞草社区. The SCCOE serves students through special education programs, alternative schools, Head Start and State Preschool programs, migrant education, and Opportunity Youth Academy. The Office also provides curriculum support, staff development, and technology support and training directly to teachers and staff in schools countywide.
