Opportunity Youth Academy opens the sixth location
SAN JOSE, CA – Opportunity Youth Academy (OYA), a credit recovery program designed to re-engage young adults aged 16-24, will host a formal ribbon cutting for the sixth location OYA Snell on Friday, December 7. County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mary Ann Dewan, and Rosemary Kamei, President of the County Board of Education will join OYA staff and students at this dedication event.
OYA is a blended learning program which offers both teacher-directed and online options for students to earn their high school diploma. Students work at their own pace and graduate with a plan for college or a career.

About the º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø Office of Education
Working collaboratively with school and community partners, the º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø Office of Education (SCCOE) is a regional service agency that provides instructional, business, and technology services to the 31 school districts of º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø. The County Office of Education directly serves students through special education programs, alternative schools, Head Start and State Preschool programs, migrant education, and Opportunity Youth Academy. The SCCOE also provides academic and fiscal oversight and monitoring to districts in addition to the 22 º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø Board of Education authorized charter schools.
