Micro-Credentialing for Technology Service Branch (TSB) Training Offerings
How do you measure the success and impact of your professional training? One way is to design personalized badged coursework through which students can earn micro-credentials for demonstrated competencies and skills. Micro-credentials allow each learner to earn and display digital badges which link to proof of their achievements. Recognizing the opportunity to enhance training offered by the technology resource advisors, I explored micro-credentials for the Technology Services Branch (TSB), specifically in school business payroll and Quintessential School Systems Control Center (QCC), the enterprise resource planning system used by SCCOE and all supported districts. Current QCC trainings are open to students from all levels with no prerequisites. This creates a disparity in skill that impedes learning for everyone. I have developed the framework and introductory curriculum on Canvas for micro-credentials in QCC in order to help pave the way for leading-edge training in TSB.

The Basics for CASEMIS Clerks
Providing training and support in the use of our new IEP system is one of the most important responsibilities of my position as an Education Program Analyst at the Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Office. In July 2015, we adopted SELPA Information Records and Analysis Support (SIRAS), a new Individualized Education Plan (IEP) system. All special education staff for all North West 含羞草社区 districts (3000+ users) were trained in its use and I absorbed the role of providing ongoing technical support to the California Special Education Management Information System (CASEMIS) clerks. The CASEMIS clerks are staff at the districts and SCCOE who serve as liaisons between the SELPA office and their special education providers; they are the first line of support for users.
As a means of creating efficiency and independence, I have created an electronic reference document, accessible from any device with internet access, to provide guidance in the performance of common processes and provide answers to frequently asked questions. This tool will be especially helpful to new CASEMIS clerks as they begin training for their new roles.

NASSA Workshop: Productive Partnering
Professional development is an active and valuable organizational investment. Providing development that demonstrates a model of service and achievement supports 鈥減remier employer鈥 and inspires productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency. With that end in mind, the 鈥淧roductive Partnering鈥 workshop was formed. Designed for SCCOE support staff, the concepts and elements covered gave participants an opportunity to understand the processes of change, transition, and trust, as well as exploring 鈥渆ffective habits鈥 and best practices that lead to successful professional relationships.
By championing a solid foundation and centeredness, this workshop focused on important soft-skills development. These skills fuel the engine of a smarter and healthier organization and provide the fertile ground from which better practices and progress emerge.

Transitioning to Electronic Substitute Timesheets
The goal of this project is to transition the organization from paper to electronic substitute timesheets. The substitutes who work for the SCCOE currently complete paper timesheets which, throughout the years, have been lost or submitted with missing approval signatures. Transitioning to an electronic timesheet will help make their consolidation and submission more efficient. I have worked with the Technology, Payroll, and Human Resources Departments to implement a new electronic system that will be piloted with the Head Start Program with the goal of transitioning all departments to an electronic substitute timesheet system.

Online Open Enrollment
A substantial number of employee benefit enrollments and changes can be generated during the open enrollment period. With this in mind, I wanted to enhance our current process by eliminating duplicate efforts and multiple entries currently required. These improvements can be obtained by implementing an online system which offers a streamlined approach to the enrollment process. By streamlining the open enrollment process we will create efficiency and effectiveness, reduce employee workloads and also cut down on unnecessary costs. All these accomplishments will lead us to our organizational goal of being a premier employer.

Success Starts with Strengths: Exploring A Strengths-Based Approach to Impact Organizational Culture
The purpose of this project was to explore the integration of a Gallup strengths-based approach into the culture of an organization, specifically the SCCOE. Through the work related to this project, I reviewed current employee satisfaction data and evaluation data from employees that have participated in a strength-based training institute. Employee engagement is tied to factors such as job satisfaction, productivity and retention. By embedding Clifton Strengths Finder Assessments, training and coaching, I propose that we can positively impact the level of employee engagement and overall job satisfaction by incorporating strengths-based training and coaching into professional development at all levels of the SCCOE.

Financial Accounting and Reporting Training
My project grew out of the need to train and empower new and existing employees with little or no prior accounting knowledge or experience in school finance. There are various forms and templates required by Internal Business Services branch for accounting and budgeting purposes and the need to train employees on the procedures to complete them correctly is on-going. My objective was to document this process with screen shots and step-by-step directions that can be used as accounting onboarding or refresher training. It also provides information required to access, analyze, and interpret different reports available in Quintessential School System (QSS) and manage the program efficiently and effectively.
