Raeena Lari was elected to the º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø Board of Education in 2022. Prior to joining SCCBOE, she served as º¬Ðß²ÝÉçÇø Health Advisory Commissioner, worked as a research economist, and actively volunteered as a community and parent advocate for students from pre-K through college.
She currently serves as the Chair of Our City Forest and as an Executive Board Member of both the League of Women Voters Bay Area and the Democratic Activists for Women Now. Raeena is deeply committed to uplifting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students, families, and the broader community. Her priorities centers on advancing health, wellness, inclusion, and belonging as essential foundations for effective learning, with a focus on the intersections of health, education, and social justice issues, including nutrition, toxic stress, adverse childhood experiences, racism, housing, criminal justice, and climate change. Raeena earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Bryn Mawr College and her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, with concentrations in Finance and Economics.
